Mission Statement
In Palm Beach County (Florida), we strive to assist the Haitian immigrant population with transition from living in their native country to living in the United States. This goal addresses a multitude of issues including: education, health care, language and cultural barriers, access to social resources, counseling and guidance, and meeting basic daily needs such as food requirements. In Haiti, we strive to build sustainable programs to support our brothers and sisters who are suffering from a lack of adequate nutrition, clean water, health care, education, employment & social programs. Our Philosophy is to work in solidarity with the Haitian people; to empower them with resources, tools, education and responsibility so they affect change in their lives.
About This Cause
HISTORY: Hands Together for Haitians (HTH) was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) in 2005, co-founded by Nancy Anderson, RN, President to address the needs of the Haitian immigrant community in Palm Beach County. Founding members worked in collaboration with local Haitian religious & community leaders to address the needs of the Haitian community. Educational programs began in 2005 and have expanded to include: adult computer & literacy classes, health awareness, financial literacy, children’s enrichment and food and basic needs outreach.
