Mission Statement

The mission of Crockett Foundation is to help build character, develop leaders and improve communities – one child at a time.

About This Cause

The Crockett Foundation was founded in 2002 by brothers Henri and Zack Crockett. Both are Pompano Beach, Florida natives who graduated from Blanche Ely High School, both attended Florida State University, and both had successful college and NFL football careers. Henri and Zach have developed a fierce passion to provide pathways to success for at-promise youth. Shortly after being drafted to the NFL, Henri started Team 94, an after-school tutoring and mentoring program for at-risk youth in Atlanta. The organization served thousands of youths in Atlanta and Minneapolis before both brothers returned home to Broward County. Permanently relocated to South Florida, Henri and Zack joined forces and reestablished the organization as Crockett Foundation, Inc. The Crockett Foundation believes that all children have the potential to succeed, given equal access to the right combination of guidance, support, opportunities, and education. With a focus on youth enrolled in Title One schools, programs use a positive and creative youth development approach, integrating technology and experiential learning to support student growth beyond the classroom. Our service delivery model is designed to be engaging and to nurture the academic and behavioral success of struggling students who are at risk of academic failure, disciplinary action, and/or juvenile delinquency because they are growing up in zip code areas that have a history of violence, low-income and low educational attainment. The Crockett Foundation provides middle-school youth with year-round, comprehensive reading, math, health, technology, and youth development programming. Using monthly surveys, the Crockett Foundation helps to strengthen the foundational, educational, social-emotional, and physical well-being of children and families, so children may thrive through our programming. The Crockett Foundation provides the following programs: 1. Youth FORCE: Enrichment program rewarding Margate Middle School, New River Middle School, and North Lauderdale Pre-K through 8 students who face multiple life challenges yet achieve outstanding grades through our provision of positive life exposure and experiences such as golf or a private museum tour. 2. PEACE: Strengthens at-promise Pompano Beach Middle School students' educational, physical and social/emotional skills through after-school and out-of-school enrichment activities (including debate, STEAM, and guest speakers), college and career exploration, project-based learning, competitions, virtual field trips, leadership and entrepreneurship. 3. Coding in Academics: Teaches students web and app programming, while exposing participants to real-world college experiences. Students build websites, develop aps and become accredited coders. 4. Crockett Explorers: Introduces Broward County middle-school students to the high-tech world of computer coding such as HTML, Python programming, JavaScript and more. Students apply learning to create computer games, apps and websites and learn about tech careers through interaction with compelling guest speakers. The Crockett Foundation also provides additional youth and family-responsive programs. The Crockett Innovation Lab is a newly established immersive tech lab accessible to all youth in Crockett programming, designed to catapult youth to the next level of STEAM study, open access to cutting edge technology, Esports, augmented/mixed reality, 3D printing, coding and more, facilitate the acquisition of long-term advantages, such as Certifications, internships, employment, network, sponsorships, scholarships.
