About This Cause

Founded in 2005, the Multnomah Bar Foundation (MBF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The MBF is the charitable arm of the Multnomah Bar Association, a voluntary bar organization for the legal community, primarily serving the Portland metro area (Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties, as well as Vancouver, Washington). Our Programs Multnomah CourtCare improves access to justice by making free, drop-in childcare available for families who have business at the Central Courthouse in downtown Portland, Oregon. CourtCare gives parents peace of mind, knowing that their children are being cared for and sheltered from adult issues in court. CourtCare serves children from six weeks to 10 years of age. CourtSupport provides the Central Courthouse with a bilingual Navigator who staffs the information desk and provides a critical service to the public by answering questions about the court, connecting individuals with needed services or accommodations at the courthouse, and making their experience more welcoming and less intimidating. CourtConnect serves as a bridge between the bench, bar and community by pairing lawyers and judges to visit community and youth groups, share information about the court system, and facilitate dialogue about the rule of law. The program builds relationships within the community and helps make the courts more approachable. Supporting the MBF helps local people with local issues.
