Mission Statement
CPR’s mission and passion: RESCUE & REHOME!! We’ve been fulfilling our mission and passion since 2004 and have, with love and care, rehomed 10,000+ dogs in need since our beginning!
About This Cause
Molli Bowen founded CPR in 2004 to help the unwanted puppies and dogs in West TN find new homes via transport to New England homes, rescues and shelters. Over the years, we’ve grown to be able to help pups and dogs outside of our immediate area in kill shelters throughout TN, LA, MS, AR and TX. Because the areas that we rescue from have very little, if any, regulations on the care of companion animals, we focus our rehoming efforts solely in the Northeast, where laws and regulations have helped to curb the horrendous overpopulation of companion animals. We also have seen firsthand that companion animals in the Northeast are, the majority of the time, TRUE companions to the families. They are kept inside, included in family outings, have birthday parties, go shopping…..they do all kinds of fun things and that’s the life we want for our CPR dogs! (All of the pups and dogs pictured on our website are from actual adopters of CPR pups). Sadly, the majority of the south is years behind in both spay/neuter and in how families treat their dogs. We are frequently asked if there are REALLY that many unwanted dogs and pups in the south. Unfortunately, the answer to that is a huge YES! We are aware that we’ll never “adopt out” of the horrendous overpopulation that exists, and that the only way to make a real difference is through spay/neuter. We have a very aggressive community outreach spay/neuter program, and for every mom of every litter of pups that we place, the cost of her spay is covered through our “Spay Your Mama” program. We also solicit grant money to help increase the amount of low cost surgeries that we can provide to our community. While we continue to push our city and county governments for a humane response to this crisis, there are very few low cost spay/neuter options for the public outside of our own program, and the governmental response remains that killing all these adoptable dogs is the solution to the overpopulation epidemic. That said….we will NEVER give up! Because of the extremely high number of dogs that are in shelters and in danger of euthanasia on a daily basis, we are a high volume adoption agency. Our goal is to save as many dogs as possible. To maintain that goal, we are vigilant and diligent with our adoption process. We have very few people processing the adoption applications, but we all work hard and fast to ensure that every applicant hears from us, usually within just a few days. All of our dogs are the epitome of companions. And remember that when you adopt a CPR dog, you’ve really helped us save TWO dogs….the one you adopt and the one who you’ve just made a place for in our program!
