About This Cause
Nearly half of California's homeless population are seniors, many experiencing homelessness for the first time within the past five years. This trend is largely driven by rising living costs that strain fixed incomes, health related complications, and the loss of a spouse. Most of our clients rely solely on Social Security benefits, with 90% receiving less than $1,075 per month, leaving them vulnerable to housing instability. We believe that no senior should have to navigate aging alone; yet over 75% of the seniors we serve are doing just that. These clients rely on DayBreak as we serve as a safety net in helping them meet their basic needs such as housing, care, food and connection. We’re not just providing services, we’re building a community of care to walk alongside them. We would love for you to join us in helping these elders live the life of dignity they deserve.
