Mission Statement
Kitty Connection, Inc. is a volunteer non-profit organization with 2 part-time employees as of 2024. Employees ensure a strong corporate foundation to allow appropriate record-keeping, growth & development. We are dedicated to rescuing and rehoming unhoused, abandoned & abused animals, primarily cats. All the pets in our organization are fostered by our volunteers until loving homes are found. We also provide low cost spay/neuter programs and work to educate the public on the importance of being a responsible pet owner. We commit to making pet adoption accessible and educating the community on responsible pet ownership to ensure safe, happy homes.
About This Cause
We are a 501 (C)3 animal rescue organization, so with that said....... With the rising costs of pet food, supplies, and especially medical care, there is a financial strain on our operations and individuals in the community. The Transfer of Charitable Funds will allow Kitty Connection (KC) to officially develop our KC Helping Paws Program, a low-cost initiative that will cover the substantial costs of supporting, rescuing, and fostering animals. The funds for KC Helping Paws will allow us to rescue and rehabilitate more abandoned or surrendered animals, ensuring they receive timely medical attention at quality clinics so they can find forever homes sooner. KC’s suggested donations of up to $400 for young animals and $275 for adult animals barely cover the medical care, spay/neuter, vaccines, and supplies for each cat & dog. Soaring medical costs and limited veterinarians that help rescues result in a need for higher adoption donations. Consequently, this makes free, unaltered pets alluring for some. In 2024, dental costs per animal were anywhere from $225 to as much as $1700 in addition to their medical care. Meanwhile, injuries and illnesses cost $500 to $6000 per animal. KC is sometimes forced to pause the intake of new pets, leaving them at risk of preventable abandonment, homelessness, or euthanasia. Additionally, KC Helping Paws will support individuals who cannot afford essential care for their pets. These funds will allow us to expand our support for older adults, people with disabilities, and low- and middle-class individuals who struggle to afford medical care and supplies needed to keep their beloved pets healthy and in their lives. KC has received and successfully managed several TNR grants. Our employees will continue to guarantee the coordination needed for multi-year funding. As the founder & director of Kitty Connection for 18 years, my vision is to establish a sustainable organization with additional paid staff to guarantee that our services will continue to support animals and community members for years to come.
