Mission Statement

A Place in Time Christian Ministries is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity that has been dedicated to serving the west side of Broward County since 2006. We firmly believe that when individuals are plagued by hunger, their ability to pursue dreams and goals or seek fulfillment in life is severely hindered. Our overarching mission is to “Bring HOPE by helping others excel in purposeful living.”

About This Cause

Addressing Food Insecurity: Our primary objective is to combat food insecurity in Broward County by granting vulnerable children and adults access to nutritious food for their households. Alarming research studies indicate that one out of every four children in Broward County, FL, goes to bed hungry. Moreover, approximately 17.1% of the county's population, comprising 333,925 individuals, currently find themselves in dire need of food and experience food insecurity. Furthermore, medical studies have correlated the lack of nutritional foods with detrimental health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, stress, and depression. Progress and Anticipated Goals: Since our establishment in 2006, A Place in Time Christian Ministries has been tirelessly working towards uplifting our community by providing hope to families in need through our impactful food pantry program. Through this initiative and in collaboration with other projects we offer for people in need, we not only address the immediate hunger crisis but also treat each individual and family with utmost dignity, love, and respect. We firmly believe that our food pantry program has the potential to restore hope and provide families in need with the necessary resources to alleviate their current hunger crisis. In 2022 alone, A Place in Time Christian Ministries distributed an impressive 146,092 pounds of food to over 2,330 deserving families, providing much-needed assistance to more than 8,400 individuals in need. As we embark in 2023, we anticipate a greater need and are prepared to serve more than 2,600 households. With your support, we aim to put an end to the hunger crisis that plagues many individuals and families within our community. Current Operations: To ensure the successful distribution of monthly food to the families we serve, several key operational tasks must be accomplished. These include: • Donation Pickup and Transportation: We pick up and transport donations from various sources. This involves coordinating with our collaboration partners, including United Way, Farm Share, and Feeding South Florida (Feeding America). • Operating Space: We require a secure operating space where we can receive, store, sort, and prepare donations. This space also serves as the distribution center for the food bags. • Increased Capacity: To meet the growing demand, we need to expand our capacity by increasing the number of bags and boxes used for food distribution. Key Workstreams: Program Awareness: We are connected with schools' social workers, teachers, administrators, as well as social workers in hospitals, local counselors, and community organizations to reach potential recipients effectively. Curriculum Development: Our goal is to develop a comprehensive volunteer/advocate training curriculum that covers the fundamentals of poverty and its interconnectedness with other issues such as health, education, safety, and emotional well-being. Volunteer Recruitment: We collaborate with schools, districts, and community organizations to recruit and train advocates who actively support our mission. We are a 99% volunteer driven organization. Future Expansion: In the coming years, we envision expanding our project across the state, aiming to become the gold standard for HOPE-bearing food programs in the state of Florida. Budget and Donation Request: Our current operating budget is $560,090/year. In addition to support with the current budget, we are in need of a 26ft or larger box truck and a 26ft refrigerated truck to avoid the costs and risks involved renting these trucks each month. These two trucks will not only reduce the monthly expenses, but also will avoid last-minute-cancelations issues due to the rental companies and will ensure the smooth operation and expansion of our food program. Learn More and Get Involved: We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to present our mission, vision, and the tangible impact we have made. On behalf of our dedicated board, passionate volunteers, and the individuals and families we serve, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for considering our plea to combat hunger and food insecurity.
