Mission Statement
Troup Cares, Inc. exists to support the provision of high-quality medical care at no cost to uninsured/underinsured Troup County residents, ages 19 through 64, with an annual income at or below 200% of the poverty level.
About This Cause
Troup Cares, Inc. is a free primary care clinic located in rural LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia. The clinic was established in 2006 by two prominent cardiologists in the area recognized a need for access to medical care for working residents of Troup County, between the ages of 19-64, who were unable to afford medical insurance. The first patient was seen in June 2007. Since that time, we have continued to grow and expand our services. Troup Cares has served almost 2,700 individual patients with an average of 2,200 patient visits every year. The clinic continue to accept new patients. The clinic operates Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-5pm. In-House medical services include primary care, wellness checks, individualized patient education, blood pressure screenings, diabetes screenings, management of chronic disease and acute illness, laboratory services, and a medication dispensary. In addition to this, we have a volunteers dedicated to case management and social service needs including assisting with medication Patient Assistance Programs, Hospital Financial Aid Applications, and discuss community organizations that provide for additional needs such as homeless shelter, income-based housing, food closets, clothing closet, and utility bill assistance. Troup Cares has partnered with 45 licensed specialists in 19 specialities that have agreed to see our patients in their clinics at no charge when needed. Eligibility Criteria includes the following: -U.S. citizen or have current visa/permit -live in Troup County -uninsured or underinsured (have no medical insurance) -Income less than 200% of Federal Poverty Level -employed within the past 6 months or drawing unemployment The clinic serves as the site for community health clinicals for LaGrange College and University of West Georgia.
