Mission Statement
The Library is a patron-focused resource center, enhancing the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds by providing outstanding materials, programs, and technology in a safe, inviting environment.
About This Cause
• CLSV has been awarded PA Gold Star Library Status o This is the state’s way of acknowledging our library’s exceptional programs for adults, teens, and children. o We offer on-going classes, training and programs in the areas of health, finance, education, and technology, as well as civic and social needs. o We are on the cutting-edge of library services and excel in meeting the needs of our community members. o Less than 13% of public libraries in the state have achieved Gold Star status. • We have been a designated Google Maker Camp for the last 4 years • We are currently constructing a dedicated Maker Space for our area’s children and teens to participate in exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) activities. • We are also creating an Educational Resource Center in the library. This new collection will provide educational support materials for homeschoolers, cyberschoolers, teachers, and families wishing to supplement their children's learning. It will house everything from robots to playground balls, fraction games to microscopes. We will provide materials in every subject, from toddler through high school. These items will be available for checkout with a current library card. We currently have a collection of over 96,000 items, circulate approx. 71,500 items annually to 13,500 patrons, and have over 114,800 visitors to the library annually.
