About This Cause

ABOUT US At Becky’s Fund, we believe that healthy relationships are the leading deterrent of domestic violence. Becky's Fund works to end domestic violence through service, education, and advocacy. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been affected by domestic violence. We help survivors help themselves find permanent safety and heal, teach young people how to build healthy relationships, and share our stories to shift the culture of victim-blaming and inspire others to join us in ending and preventing domestic violence WHAT WE DO Survivor Support Issue: 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men are victims of domestic violence. Solution: While many often blame the victim by asking "why don’t they leave," Becky's Fund instead helps empower these victims through Survivor Support, assisting them to leave when they are ready and supporting them in areas ranging from extraction, financial literacy, and legal support. ENDOVI Issue: The most dangerous time for a survivor is when they physically leave the abusive relationship. They are at a 75% higher risk of being killed. Solution: Using technology and a mobile phone platform created by Appnector, ENDOVI is an access point to the resources available to survivors who need help. Men of CODE Issue: Domestic Violence is a gendered crime and problem where men and boys have the ability and capacity to help be part of the solution in preventing and ending domestic violence. Solution: Men of Code works with male student athletes and their coaches to transform them into allies and leaders in ending and preventing domestic violence through education, mentorship, and real life skills workshops such as financial literacy, brand development, and public speaking. Becoming Your Own Hero Issue: 50-80% of teens know a peer who is in a violent relationship and nearly 80% of girls who have been physically abused in their relationship continue to date their abuser. Solution: Supported by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Girl Scouts, Becoming Your Own Hero trains and educates women aged 9-18 years old on dating violence, how to build healthy relationships and inspires leadership, empowerment, and self-confidence through music and art. National Domestic Violence College Tour Issue: The highest rate of dating violence occurs between the ages of 16-24 years old. Solution: National Domestic Violence College Tour has reached over 40 schools in the country, teaching both young men and women how to recognize the warning signs of an abusive relationship, how to personally become safe from an abusive relationship and how to help a friend get help. //BECKY’S FUND is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to end domestic violence through service, education and advocacy. Through our interactive workshops – MEN OF CODE, BECOMING YOUR OWN HERO and NATIONAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COLLEGE TOUR – we empower young men and women how to build healthy relationships and lead by example. Through ENDOVI and Direct Support, we provide emergency support services and resources for those in need and empower survivors to leave safely and permanently. Through these programs and our signature fundraiser, WALK THIS WAY, we work to end the devastating impact of domestic violence today and for future generations. CALL TO ACTION Help create a future free from domestic violence.
