About This Cause
We have built a strong ecosystem of partners together to create a sustainable development platform for disadvantaged communities we can model first here in the US and then deploy in Africa working with our US government partners, Academic, and international development partners. Our initiative centers on improving food security, access to clean water, population health, and overall ecological well-being through the development of regional aquatic food systems that will couple workforce development and education with developing of a regional processing platform and value chain. Seafood competitiveness and developing resilient aquatic food systems is not only a national security priority for the US, but a key part of the UN’s food security and nutrition and poverty eradication and The Reef’s Foundation core mission.
