Mission Statement
We are a 501c3 animal rescue and sanctuary dedicated to ending the senseless killing of animals who have been discarded by society and place them into loving homes where they will be cared for for the rest of their lives.
About This Cause
OLBH does not discriminate as to what animals we will accept or not. We remove dogs from open admission government shelters, provide a control service in our county for strays and accept owner surrenders. On average under the umbrella of care thru the rescue there are 180-200 canines, 30+ Nigerian Dwarf goats, chickens, ducks etc. We are an all-volunteer based rescue, there are not any paid employees. We exist thru fundraising, grants and individual donations, no monies are received from the county or state. Once our intakes have been vetted and are healthy, both physically and mentally, we work hard to find them their perfect forever home thru adoptions. One of the unique programs we have, started in 2015, is the Forever Foster program. This program allows those dogs that are less desirable for adoption, seniors, those with lifetime medical issues or physical disabilities into loving foster homes where they will receive all the love they deserve. The rescue remains responsible for all of these canines needs, food, veterinary care, preventatives, medicines etc.
