Mission Statement
WOBO is a membership-based, volunteer-driven non-profit organization whose mission is to improve neighborhood livability, vitality and sustainability by making walking and biking in Oakland safe, easy, accessible and fun.
About This Cause
We want every person who lives, plays, and works in Oakland to feel safe and comfortable walking and bicycling, and that they know how to make their neighborhood a better place to walk and bike. What We Do: WOBO actively participates in local planning processes to ensure that full bicycle and pedestrian accommodations are included in the planning process. WOBO designs and launches key campaigns to push for the city to make good on the bicycle and pedestrian master plans. WOBO nurtures a vibrant bicycling and walking community here in Oakland by organizing community events such as Oaklavia Open Streets, East Oakland Futures Fest, and Bike to Work Day.
