Mission Statement
The Victory Project is an initiative from Sporting Kansas City that unites players, staff and fans to help children battling cancer - and all of life's challenges.
About This Cause
Every year far too many local families receive the news that their child has cancer. In 2013, Sporting Club launched The Victory Project, which unites our supporters, players and associates to make a tangible difference in the lives of children who are battling cancer. Through our partnership with Children’s Mercy we set up The Victory Project Family Fund. A cancer diagnosis is not only hard physically and emotionally but financially as well. With this fund, families can receive assistance to help cover basic household expenses, car payments, receive gas cards and much more when they need it. Our newest and most impactful program – Sporting Wishes - was launched earlier this year after we learned that each year over 20 children are diagnosed with a secondary cancer or relapse diagnosis in our community. Sporting Wishes gives these children an opportunity to take control of their happiness. Whether it is a trip to a volcano, swimming with dolphins or meeting their favorite Disney princess, we will make their dream come true.
