As the charitable arm of AOPA, the AOPA Foundation helps to provide funding for important work that membership dues alone cannot support. To amplify the work of the membership association, the AOPA Foundation provides funding for challenging projects that will keep general aviation strong and preserve Americans' freedom to fly.
About This Cause
The AOPA Foundation Inc., a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt charitable, educational, and scientific organization, educates the public on the value of general aviation. The AOPA Foundation works to improve aviation safety through the Air Safety Institute, preserve community airports, and encourage learning to fly for career and personal benefit—all in the interest of ensuring the future of general aviation in America. As the charitable arm of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the AOPA Foundation helps provide funding for important work that dues alone cannot fully support.
