As a not-for-profit organization, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is dedicated to strengthening community with a focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Every day we see lasting personal and social growth happen by working together, side by side with our neighbors At FSPY, we believe we have something special - a sense of community - and that everyone should have the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure. While our programs and services are based on the unique needs and interests of our community, our people is what makes us US. About This Cause
Every day, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA strengthens our community for kids, adults, seniors, & families with programs that protect, teach, connect, heal, nourish & encourage. It's how we help the community & the 'us" who live in it realize their incredible possibilities. One of the ways the Y is able to help "us", the community, is by providing financial assistance to anyone who resides or works in our service area of Clark, Fanwood and Scotch Plains. Support is provided based on demonstrated need, with the goal no one is turned away regardless of income or background. The FSPY Annual Campaign raises awareness & funds for the Y's financial assistance program that enables hundreds of children and families to participate in Y membership, classes, child care, fitness & wellness. Last year the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA offered $293,317 in financial assistance supported largely by annual campaign gifts. 636 unique individuals were able to participate in programming at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA in Child Care, Day Camp, Aquatics, Chronic Disease Prevention, LIVESTRONG, Achievers, 7th Grade Initiative, military memberships, and so much more. Matching Gifts from donor employers doubled many of our dollars and do even more. We can not do it alone.
