Mission Statement
Norwescap’s mission is to strengthen communities by creating opportunities that improve the lives of low-income individuals and families. Our vision is to help build a community that transforms poverty into opportunity. Throughout northwestern New Jersey, we provide a comprehensive array of strategies, programs and services that generally fall into six domains or categories of support: Education; Employment; Financial Empowerment; Health & Nutrition; Housing & Community Development; and Volunteerism & Civic Engagement. Our mission and work positively impacts over 30,000 people each year, helping them move towards a thriving future.
About This Cause
Norwescap serves and empowers individuals and families who are facing poverty in communities throughout Northern New Jersey, helping them to envision their goals, identify obstacles, and achieve their aspirations. We offer programs across six domains - Education; Employment; Financial Empowerment; Health & Nutrition; Housing & Community Development; and Volunteerism & Civic Engagement – and we take a comprehensive approach to serving our neighbors with low- to moderate income, weaving together dozens of programs to meet basic needs while also helping people build resiliency and progress towards self-sufficiency. From Head Start centers to adult education scholarships; from our Food Bank distributing to 100+ pantries to family nutritional support through WIC; from financial literacy and tax preparation to matched savings for a family’s first home or car, every Norwescap program provides someone with the opportunity to move forward. Altogether, our work positively impacts the lives of over 30,000 individuals each year.
