Mission Statement
The mission of Hunterdon Helpline is to provide a live, First Assist 24-hour initial assistance call center, as well as programs and services, to meet the needs of the communities we serve through information, referrals and linkage, advocacy, education and care management.
About This Cause
Hunterdon Helpline helps at-risk residents with programs and services and the empowering tools and skills needed to navigate the social service system successfully and improve their lives. It's 24-7 hotline provides assistance and referrals to meet any challenge. Hunterdon Helpline will: • Act as Hunterdon County’s umbrella organization for intake referral and professional linkage of callers to appropriate organizations offering specific sources for their needs. • Act as a social service center other county agencies and organizations can refer callers and clients to when their specialized services cannot offer assistance. • Serve marginalized at-risk communities such as seniors, persons with disabilities, minorities, the under-educated and under employed. Helpline provides the following FREE programs to assist seniors, the homeless, adult learners and the unemployed: Telephone Reassurance-Friendly Visitor-Volunteer Shopper-Literacy Services-The Next Door program and Code Blue Shelter for the homelss - Workconnectivity
