Mission Statement

The Arc of Cape May County promotes and protects the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively promotes their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

About This Cause

The Arc of Cape May County provides comprehensive services for over 150 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through our residential housing, day habilitation, recreation, and supported employment programs. Our direct care workforce of over 100 staff members delivers high quality and compassionate care for each of our individuals residing within our 12 group homes and 2 supported apartment living settings, and who attend our other programs. We serve both ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals and cater our supports to each need. We have a person-centered approach and strive to understand what motivates and enriches the lives of each person served as we meet those expectations. We work collaboratively with community partners, parents, caregivers, guardians, case management, fellow Arc chapters, medical providers, donors, supporters, board members and other stakeholders to ensure the health and welfare of our clients as well as our organization. Our biggest challenge is the cost of maintaining our residential home properties as well as the budgetary inequities within the state reimbursement and billing system. There is a great need for donated funds to ensure our sustainability into the future.
