Mission Statement
The mission of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York is to be a leader in alleviating hunger and preventing food waste. The Food Bank accomplishes this mission by ensuring that all products available for donation reach the Food Bank and are distributed judiciously to its member agencies; practicing responsible stewardship; and actively participating in the community to increase awareness of hunger and poverty.
About This Cause
The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York works to alleviate hunger and prevent food waste by collecting large donations of edible but unmarketable food from the food industry and distributing it to food pantries, soup kitchens and other charitable agencies feeding the hungry in 23 counties of northeastern New York. Each year the Food Bank distributes more than 38 million pounds of food and other essential items to a network of 1,000 charitable feeding programs.
