Mission Statement
1. The Pregnancy Care Center of The Merrimack Valley, Inc. (PCC) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3), non-medical community service committed to providing individualized, accurate and relevant information to anyone facing an unexpected pregnancy. We offer education and support on alternatives to abortion, sexual abstinence and post abortion recovery. The PCC opened and was incorporated in 1985 and has been serving the community for over 33 years. The PCC does not engage in political activities. Our services are available to individuals regardless of age, race, income, nationality, religious affiliation, disability or other arbitrary circumstances.
About This Cause
Our program for clients facing an unexpected pregnancy provides education, practical gifts of clothing, food and furniture, along with a long-lasting relationship from the moment a new life is confirmed through the pregnancy, until the child is one year old. Our services are free, confidential and available to individuals regardless of age, race, income, nationality, religious affiliation, disability or other arbitrary circumstances. Our agency assists many low income residents, who can barely afford rent/housing, heating and other utility costs. Our clients are pregnant and primarily single parents of infants and toddlers. In 2017, the PCC had over 1,400 client visits with the following free services through our centers in Haverhill and Lawrence (new Lowell center opens in March, 2018): • Infant Food & Formula • Basic food for the family (pregnant women): protein, cereals, etc. • Maternity & Children’s Clothing (up to size 2T) • Diapers and other Baby Items, including Toiletries • Gently Used Baby Furniture (strollers, cribs and more) • Toll-free Help-line • Self-administered pregnancy tests • Pregnancy options education and mentoring • Post abortion support • Referral network for medical care, legal, housing and other social services • Sexual Integrity education for parents and youth • Healthy pregnancy, infant care and other education
