About This Cause
As a non-profit organization, parents of children enrolled in the center are encouraged to run for a seat on the 15 member Board of Directors. Parents interested in supporting our program services and participate in policy formation, budget-setting and fundraising provide a great contribution to the center. In an effort to make ourselves available to all families the center works hard to keep tuition rates as affordable as possible. At the same time a high quality program is provided with outstanding teacher-child ratios. In order to do this the center does have an annual fundraising campaign to help off-set the tuition rates. Donations to the center help us in making capital improvements to our facility including purchasing new outdoor equipment, renovating our classroom spaces, children's bathroom, kitchen as well as purchasing equipment and supplies for the children. We also have a scholarship program for our teachers to help support their professional development. Such funding will pay for training's or classes in early education so our teacher continue to grow and have been trained using the latest research and practices in the field. As teachers , we work to enhance the children's own feeling of self-worth and provide them with an atmosphere in which they can develop satisfying relationships with other children and adults from a wide range of ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. It is our philosophy that the role of the program is to provide a positive, consistent, and productive environment in which the child can grow and develop at his or her own level. We provide an inviting space in which the child can choose from a wide variety of educational activates and learning and play materials. The children are encouraged to exercise their natural curiosity to explore their environment. Children are provided with materials to creatively express their experiences, ideas and feelings. The program provides daily opportunities for children to test out their developing bodies, intellects, and interests. Nestled safely within the courtyard of the Transportation Building is our fully equipped fenced in outdoor play-deck surface where the children enjoy a varsity of fresh air activities. A hands-on approach to learning and discovering,TCC has implemented the Creative Curricular Program, offering a variety of activities and materials that encourage manipulating, experimenting and problem solving. Actives are planned to assure optimum growth and development of the whole child. The excellent teacher-child rations allows the children to particulate in individual and small group activities encouraging language, social skills an self help skills in addition to fostering independence and self control. Our curriululm emphasizes a creative arts approach to developing reading, writing and math readiness skills which further prepares them for the next learning experience. The program is developmentally based allowing the children to develop at their own pace. The teacher's role is to motivate, stilmualte thinking, assess the individual learning style and needs of each child. The program provides a loving an nurturing environment which will enhance his or her self-esteem for future success in school.
