Mission Statement
The Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association and the Humane Society of the United States have merged. HSVMA has been an affiliate of the Humane Society family of organizations since 2005 and is now fully integrated.
About This Cause
The Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association and the Humane Society of the United States have merged. The HSVMA will integrate with HSUS as a program team called the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Alliance. Over the past 15 years, our affiliation and partnership in mission and initiatives with HSVMA have been critical to our collective efforts to gain widespread awareness, support and credibility for the animal protection movement and its values within the veterinary community. The impact of the HSVMA staff, members and volunteers who have mobilized veterinary professionals in collaborative advocacy is evident in our program work nationwide, including our approach to access to care, our educational offerings both online and at our events and our passage of priority legislation at the local, state and federal levels. Veterinarians have played a crucial role in every facet of our work and figured prominently in some of our most important campaigns, including fight against puppy mills and end horse soring.
