Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide food and personal products to the food insecure of Hunterdon County with respect and compassion regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
About This Cause
Since its 1982 inception, the Flemington Area Food Pantry has grown to serve more than 3,000 clients (over 1,300 households) annually and has moved five times due to the necessity of bigger buildings and expanded facilities to better serve clients with more programs. We are, by far, the largest food pantry in the county. We do so much more than just distribute food, as we have expanded our services to meet client needs in the areas of nutrition, health and wellness, senior needs, access to personal care items, community meals, summer feeding programs, birthday bags for children, non-traditional living situation nutrition, home deliveries, meal kits, and linkages to a variety of community resources to help clients improve their quality of life. A cartful of groceries is important, but it’s only a start. Addressing hunger is much more complicated, so we creatively address some of the underlying issues that our neighbors in need face like: dignity, access to food, health, community, and family and senior wellness.
