Mission Statement
The Essex County Parks Foundation is a non-profit support arm for the Essex County Park System; the first County Park System in the nation.
About This Cause
The Essex County Parks Foundation was incorporated in 1995 as the Essex County Parks Centennial, which was established as a non-profit organization formed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Essex County Parks System. Once the Essex County Parks System's centennial passed, the Essex County Parks Centennial reorganized and became the Essex County Parks Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate the public on the historic Essex County Park System; develop a series of fundraising activities and programs to help support the Essex County Park System; research, record and publish the historical events and achievements of the park system to include preservation of important documents and artifacts; and to help restore the important historic facilities and park locations for present and future use.
