OUR MISSION Partners for Women and Justice empowers low-income and abused victims and survivors of domestic violence to build safe and secure futures for themselves and their children by providing equal access to justice. We offer quality legal assistance in domestic violence and family law matters.
About This Cause
Partners is a non-profit organization providing free legal help to low income, and abused victims and survivors in domestic violence and family law matters. Founded in 2003, Partners’ combination of staff attorneys, paralegals and pro bono legal support provide access to the legal system for victims in Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. Partners is the only organization devoted exclusively to legal assistance for victims of domestic violence in this area in New Jersey. What We Do: - Secure restraining orders and orders of protection against abusers - Secure fair awards for child support - Secure orders for safe visitation and custody arrangements - Advise on divorce proceedings and spousal support - Prepare wills, powers of attorney and living wills - Offer assistance through a help line and legal clinics - Provide bi-lingual services
