Mission Statement
Berks Encore develops aging-confident individuals to enhance their ability to live well later in life.
About This Cause
Berks Encore is a nonprofit leader of senior services in Berks County, Pennsylvania. The services provided offer support for our community's older adults and their care givers without compromising their independence. Through education, advocacy, direct service and referrals, we develop aging-confident individuals. We provide a holistic, client-centered approach to caring for older adults. Our Aging life Care Professionals™ work with you to provide answers at a time of uncertainty. Their guidance and assistance helps families take action and make decisions that ensure quality care and an optimal life for those they love. This reduces worry, stress and time off work for family caregivers. Meals on Wheels - The Meals on Wheels program provides more than just a nutritious meal – it can offer peace of mind. Health & Wellness Education - Berks Encore offers evidence-based classes to help the county’s older adults focus on their personal wellness. Our trained educators help participants take charge of the management of disease and chronic conditions like diabetes, arthritis, COPD, heart disease and others. All programs are offered in conjunction with the PA Dept. of Aging and the Berks County Area Agency of Aging. Center Activities - Opportunities for a noon meal, socialization, recreation, volunteering, and evidence-based health & wellness classes. We offer community educational sessions as well as one-on-one counseling. We help develop individualized plans to meet the needs of each client. We do not sell any insurance or financial products; instead, we can give you information on all of your options and unbiased counsel on their benefits.
