Mission Statement

Our mission is to enrich the lives of our users through innovative services & quality resources. Through information, education, and recreation, we seek to stimulate creativity, intellectual curiosity, and to be a center for lifelong learning in the Greater Pittston Community.

About This Cause

Since 1951, the Pittston Memorial Library has been an integral part of the community. Over the years, we have begun to offer more than traditional library services. You can still pick up the newest bestseller or popular DVDs, but we offer so much more! On any given day, you can come into the library at 47 Broad Street and find programming and events for all ages. The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Children’s Wing features a large selection of books and is a great place for families to share a story, play with toys, or learn something new. The Creative Corner meeting space brings health and human services information to our neighbors as well as offering a variety of craft programs. Our Second Chance Book Shop gives you an opportunity to support the library by picking up some great books at a discount. The Reading Nook is a quiet place to work or enjoy our weekly classic movie with refreshments. We offer a variety of programs for patrons of all ages. From toddler Story Time to Adult Crafting, the library is a great place to learn something new and meet friends - old and new! We offer free public computers or free WiFi with your own device. Printing, copying, scan to email and faxing are available for a nominal fee. You can find out more on our website, www.pittstonmemoriallibrary.org, or follow us on Facebook for the latest news and events!
