ANTI VIOLENCE PARTNERSHIP OF PHILADELPHIA

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, 19130-3814 United States

Mission Statement

The mission of the Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia (AVP) is to end the cycle of violence in Philadelphia by providing a wide range of critical intervention, prevention, and support services to children, youth, and adult victims of violence to help them rebuild their lives in the aftermath of violence.

About This Cause

AVP is a victim service agency that serves over 3,000 victims of violence and co-victims of homicide in Philadelphia annually. Last year, Philadelphia experienced a homicide record with 562 deaths, 89% of which involved firearms. The impact of violence is felt beyond the victim, reverberating through families and the extended relationships that form communities. AVP provides individual, family, and group counseling, victim advocacy, court accompaniments, grief support, crisis intervention, and early prevention training for children, their parents, teachers and service providers throughout Philadelphia. AVP provides a continuum of support for our clients through partnerships with local schools, communities, organizations, and government agencies.
