Surrey's mission is to inspire older adults to live with independence and dignity and to continue as engaged members of the community.
About This Cause
For 40 years, Surrey has been innovative in its approach to healthy aging and recognizes that shifting demographics and advances in health and wellness requires Surrey to prepare for and meet emerging challenges and opportunities, as well as increase and evolve services to address the needs of a significantly increasing senior population in our region. Founded on the philosophy of Neighbor Helping Neighbor, this grass roots effort has grown into a strong community-based nonprofit organization serving over 5,400 individuals annually. The scope of services for adults in all stages of aging has grown to provide a broad range of community-based services and center-based wellness to support the physical, mental, and social health of older adults. This includes, nutritious meals, exercise classes, evidence based programming, health education, transportation, health screenings, technology classes, performing arts, music appreciation, volunteer opportunities, home care services and more. Surrey manages four sites located in Havertown, Media, Broomall, and our Center for Healthy Living in Devon serving as our headquarters. The Surrey Consignment Shop is located in nearby Berwyn, PA.
