Mission Statement
The Artist In Rural Ireland Fund is a non-profit Pennsylvania corporation deemed by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States to be a 5o1(c)(3) organization eligible for fully tax-deductible American donations. The Fund supports the programmes of The Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ireland and the exhibitions of works by Ballinglen Fellows in the United States. The Artist In Rural Ireland Fund was founded by Margo Dolan and Peter Maxwell in 1992.
About This Cause
The Artist In Rural Ireland Fund is a non-profit Pennsylvania corporation deemed by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States to be a 5o1(c)(3) organization eligible for fully tax-deductible American donations. The Fund supports the programmes of The Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ireland and the exhibitions of works by Ballinglen Fellows in the United States. The Artist In Rural Ireland Fund was founded by Margo Dolan and Peter Maxwell in 1992. The Ballinglen Arts Foundation was incorporated in Ireland as a limited non-profit company in 1993 with registration number 8200832h and established as a registered Irish Charity (chy 11019) in 1994. It has been approved for tax-deductible donations under Section 848A of the Tax Consolidation Act of 1997. Its accounts are audited annually by Gilroy Gannon and submitted to the Revenue Commissioners and The Arts Council for review. The Foundation is supported by The Arts Council, The Ireland Funds, The Mayo County Council, The Boston Foundation, The Leo Model Foundation, and by individuals. As a matter of principle the Foundation has never asked for financial support from the local community.
