Mission Statement
The mission of Valley Community Healthcare is to improve the health and wellbeing of our community by providing high-quality comprehensive healthcare services regardless of ability to pay. Since 1970, VCH has provided integrated, patient-centered care to low-income and vulnerable populations in the San Fernando Valley.
About This Cause
Valley Community Healthcare (VCH), a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable agency, provides a patient centered medical home for low-income men, women, and children. Founded in 1970, VCH today serves nearly 30,000 individuals and families, 80% of whom struggle with incomes of less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Level ($26,500 for family of 4)! We provide over 120,000 annual patient visits at our two San Fernando Valley sites: our North Hollywood main campus and our North Hills Wellness Center. In addition to primary health care, VCH offers pediatric, OB/GYN, dental, optometry and specialty care services; with integrated behavioral health services in a care in a team approach, providing wraparound care services for our most complex and vulnerable patients. © VCH was the first provider of HIV Testing Services in San Fernando Valley, 1987 (The 1st year testing was available) © VCH is a respected training site for medical residents from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital, social work interns from USC and CSUN, and local vocational schools. This Teaching and Training program gives student MDs and NPs clinical hours in a community health setting, empowering them to seek a career in mission-driven, impactful health care. © VCH’s Chronic Disease Management Program cares for over 4500 patients with Diabetes, Asthma, and/or Cardio-Vascular Disease © VCH’s Award-Winning VALLEY TEEN HEALTHCARE, was a pilot program for California and was chosen as their model teen pregnancy prevention programs by the California Wellness Foundation & United Nations Youth Empowerment Summit. © In 2020, VCH is on the front-lines of Covid care for its very vulnerable population. Through extensive new protocols and safety measures, VCH continues to provide care to 10's of thousands of low-income people in need, either in person as needed or via phone and telehealth methods. We are open for all those who need to see their physician in challenging times. That is who we are; that is what we do.
