About This Cause

To fulfill its mission statement, the National Headache Foundation conducts the following activities: Serving as a source of help to headache sufferers, the physicians and allied healthcare providers who treat them and the public, by: • Publishing a quarterly magazine Head Wise, providing a toll-free for sufferers, and hosting a Web site that features the latest information about headaches and new discoveries in diagnosis and treatment. • Another vital resource is our monthly e-newsletter, NHF News to Know. This publication contains up-to-the minute information on new drug approvals and the latest in headache research and will arrive in e-mail inboxes each month, or a hard copy can be requested. • Sponsoring numerous outreach activities throughout the year, including Migraine and Headache Awareness Month (MHAM) • Compiling a national list of headache specialist. • Offering patient education materials. • Writing about timely headache topics, such as research in the NHF Blog. • Utilizing social media venues such as Twitter and Facebook to update our online followers about our latest campaigns, research advancements and resources. • Hosting Webinars for headache sufferers. Each session is on a specific headache-related topic and is led by an experienced headache professional. These are later posted as podcasts to the website for viewing by all interested parties. • Presenting exhibits at major medical conferences in order to disseminate information to physicians and other healthcare professionals who treat those experiencing headache.
