Nonprofit member-supported organization in the Monadnock region which is a small land trust as well as educating in the Monadnock region's schools as well as facilitating many programs for children and adults.
About This Cause
The Harris Center for Conservation Education is a member-supported nonprofit organization based in Hancock, NH. Since 1970, we have been fostering an environmental ethic and appreciation of the natural world in the Monadnock Region. As a land trust, we have protected over 22,000 acres in a Supersanctuary that spans 7 towns. Our education programs reach students in 30 local schools, in addition every year we offer over 120 programs, events, and outings for the community. On our conserved lands and throughout the region, we coordinate and facilitate a variety of ecological research projects. Findings from these programs inform our land conservation and environmental education programs.
