Our services support these organizations and help them sustain their services and successfully fulfill their missions. 7 youth leadership and civic engagement programs incorporate service learning and create pathways for lifelong success. These programs inspire students to make a difference and nurture their leadership skills. Annually our students are recognized for more than 50,000 hours of service to the community. The Center connects adults with opportunities for community service as well as community leadership and operate the largest volunteer database in the Triangle area of North Carolina. On the corporate side, companies enlists our help to involve their employees to give back through service or teambuilding projects. Through the relaunch of Leadership Durham we will provide community leadership training for corporate partners to grow leaders to serve as catalysts and sustainers of positive change for our economy and quality of life. We partner with groups that address issues ranging from hunger and poverty to arts and culture; from youth and education to senior citizens and retirement homes; from animal protection to environmental protection. We work with agencies focusing on civic engagement, literacy, disaster relief, drug abuse, recreation, immigration, health and human services, and more. TNVLC operates throughout the 9-county Triangle area-primarily in Durham, Orange and Wake counties. We also work closely with Triangle schools, area universities, local municipalities, Social Services as well as many community-based organizations and service agencies. Because of the scope of our programs, we are able to make a broad community impact. Our overall goal is to improve the quality of life in our community.
