Mission Statement
The mission of the Kenny Rogers Children's Center is to improve the quality of life for children with special needs and their families throughout the community and region by providing a wide array of superior developmental and therapeutic services.
About This Cause
The Kenny Rogers Children’s Center provides occupational, physical and speech therapy to special needs children ages birth to 21 years of age. We treat approximately 400 children with all types of special needs and developmental delays including Prematurity, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Seizure Disorder and many other developmental disorders. For over 42 years the Center has provided these services on-site at our Center at no charge to the families. The Center is committed to providing cutting-edge, therapeutic interventions such as: Therapeutic Listening, Intensive Suit Therapy - used to rehabilitate neurological and sensory disorders to treat patients diagnosed with cerebral palsy, stroke, developmental delays, ataxia, athetosis, traumatic brain injuries and many other neurological disorders, Vision Treatment, and Kinesio Taping - the use of a specialized elastic tape to assist the body’s ability to contract and relax a muscle. The Center also offers durable medical equipment prescription and management as well as orthotic prescription and management. Pediatric therapy is a specialized service that would not be available in our area without the Kenny Rogers Children’s Center. We provide services that many families in Southeast Missouri would have to travel hundreds of miles to receive elsewhere. Or, even worse, would have to forego due to transportation and financial constraints. Over the years, the Center has literally helped thousands of children with special needs attend public school, function more independently, and gain the confidence they need to lead more active and productive lives.
