MENDELSSOHN GLEE CLUB

NEW YORK, New York, 10025-1510 United States

Mission Statement

The Mendelssohn Glee Club was formed in 1866 in New York City to promote men's choral singing. It is the oldest independent men's chorus in the US and has presented at least two concerts every year since 1866. It has a repertoire that includes all major classical styles, folk music of the world, American pop music spanning the ages, Broadway and operetta, and sacred music of many traditions and ethnicities. The Club also helps further the careers of promising singers by featuring them as Guest Artists at concerts.

About This Cause

The Club provides at least two free concerts every year and is supported by dues from singers and donations from associates and friends. The club also sings at special events when requested.
