Mission Statement
The Fitness port is a program of RMCL and is run by volunteers. The mission is to promote health and wellness to community members. The Fitness Port offers exercise classes, weight training, cardio and body master equipment.
About This Cause
RMCL was incorporated in 1971 to help serve the medical needs eastern Washington County. It is a private non-profit corporation and has 501©3 status from IRS. It is directed by a volunteer board of trustees from service area towns. Lubec area is designated as a medically underserved area (MUA) and a HMSA. Located in Washington County, which is twice the size of Rhode Island with a population of about 34,000. The Regional Medical Center at Lubec, Inc. (RMCL) is one of Maine’s most comprehensive community health centers. RMCL offers primary medical, dental, behavioral health and substance abuse services to underserved communities. It is highly responsive to the needs of its community; including the current opiate addiction crisis. RMCL provides a Sliding Fee Discount Program to income eligible patients.
