EAC’s new mission statement is to foster a more compassionate and just society. We are a network of vital programs and resources that ensures every person has an opportunity to achieve a better life. ● We Empower communities. ● We Assist with access to complex service systems. ● We Care for individuals and families in need.
About This Cause
EAC was founded over 50 years ago in 1969 by four women in response to the special learning needs of children in the Port Washington community. Over the years we have grown to be a nonprofit consisting of over 400 staff who serve over 62,000 individuals (2023) throughout Long Island, New York City, and parts of Rockland County. EAC’s new mission statement is to foster a more compassionate and just society. We are a network of vital programs and resources that ensures every person has an opportunity to achieve a better life. ● We Empower communities. ● We Assist with access to complex service systems. ● We Care for individuals and families in need. We do this through the 5 program divisions: Vocational Services, Senior and Nutrition Services, Behavioral Health and Criminal Justice Services, Family and Community Services, and our Children and Youth Services.
