Mission Statement
The Epilepsy Association serves children, adults and families affected by epilepsy in Northeast Ohio.
About This Cause
The Epilepsy Association (EA) mission is as follows: For children, adults and families in Northeast Ohio impacted by epilepsy, EA will raise awareness in the community, provide education, advocacy and direct services that lead to an increased understanding of the disorder and to better management of the condition, resilience, personal fulfillment, independence and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the community. In support of this mission, EA believes education and awareness are imperative to treatment, acceptance, and equitable division of resources. EA was founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1972 and in 1990 began offering mental health services to adults with both a mental illness and epilepsy. EA’s service area includes Cuyahoga County and 10 other counties in Northeast Ohio. EA is fully licensed and accredited, and is not a member of any national organizations; therefore all funds raised support services in Northeast Ohio.
