About This Cause
The Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania, Inc. (FHCCP) is a private, not-for-profit, regional organization dedicated to improving health, preventing disease and promoting wellness. For 46 years, FHCCP has functioned as a prime contractor for public health programs in a 24-county region of central Pennsylvania (PA) offering an array of services including family planning; breast and cervical cancer screening; WIC nutrition services; SNAP outreach; adolescent health programs; STD testing and treatment; HIV/AIDS prevention, housing and case management; tobacco prevention and cessation; cardiovascular screening; Substance Use/Opioid Use Disorder screening and housing; and parenting and community education. Services are delivered through a network of 30 subcontractor agencies at close to 60 locations throughout the region. The diverse network is comprised of seven hospitals, seven Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), ten community-based health centers, and six social service agencies. In addition, FHCCP direct services include WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Food Program) services to 14,000 clients in 10 counties on a monthly basis, housing services to almost 300 individuals annually in conjunction with our HIV/AIDS and Opioid programs, SNAP outreach to 600 individuals, and adolescent health education and referral to over 8,000 teens annually. In addition to the services described, FHCCP anlyzes data to assess need, designs programs to meet the need, provides training and monitoring to ensure compliance, conducts marketing and social media campaigns, and conducts research.
