Mission Statement
Council on Rural Service Programs, Inc (CORS) is a 501c3 organization that has been in existence since 1974. CORS provides Head Start and Early Head services in 9 counties in west central Ohio: Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Green, Logan, Miami, Preble, Shelby and Van Wert. CORS also youth in Darke and Miami County. Achievement Center for Education Success (ACES). Serves youth grades 9 - 12 in Darke and Miami Counties. Gateway Youth served youth ages 7 - 17 in Darke County
About This Cause
Council on Rural Service Programs (CORS), a 501(c)(3) organization has been in existence since 1974. CORS provides comprehensive education and support services to individuals and families. Our dedicated and knowledgeable staff build partnerships with people of all ages, and inspire them to seek new opportunities which increase their life potential. Early Childhood: CORS provides Head Start and Early Head Start services in nine counties in west-central Ohio: Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Preble, Shelby and Van Wert. These services are provided for pregnant moms, infants, toddlers and preschool. Youth: CORS provides services to the youth in Darke and Miami County in our Achievement Center for Educational Success (ACES) and Gateway Youth. ACES serves Darke and Miami Youth. Students, grades 9 - 11 who are credit deficient or are looking an alternative learning environment are provided coursework in the classroom, through online classes and by independent study all under the guidance of a certified teacher. A workforce development program is available to qualified students who are matched to jobs in the community. Gateway Youth in Darke County specializes in working with youth ages 5 - 17 who are struggling with relationships, conflict and self-esteem. These youth are provided guidance and help so that they can succeed in school and communicate effectively.
