Mission Statement
1. To construct a Korean American community where Cooperation between Korean Americans and Korean American organization in the Greater New York area is achieved through harmony and unity. 2. To be the primary Korean American organization representing the Korean American community so that it is an integral part of American society. 3. To contribute to the perpetual friendship of the United States of America, as our current home, and Korea, as our ancestral home. 4. Make contact, create ties, exchange ideas, and build cooperative relationships with all Korean American community. 5. To strengthen relationship with other ethnic communities and the USA 6. To develop and deliver programs and services to the individuals and families in need.
About This Cause
The Korean American Association of Greater New York (KAAGNY) is a dynamic and vibrant organization that serves as the primary voice for the 500,000 Koreans living in the Greater New York area, encompassing Metro New York and parts of New Jersey and Connecticut. Established in 1960, our association has spent over six decades fostering a strong sense of community, advancing the interests, rights, and welfare of Korean Americans, and enhancing the friendship and understanding between our Korean-American community and the wider public. As a platform for community engagement, we work diligently to promote Korean culture, heritage, and values, while actively supporting the integration of Korean-Americans into the American mainstream. KAAGNY plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the East and the West, nurturing the unique Korean-American identity, and advocating for issues that directly affect our community. We believe in the power of unity and the strength in diversity, and we strive to provide an inclusive space for Koreans of all ages and backgrounds. From facilitating cultural events, providing resources and support, to being an active voice in local politics and community affairs, KAAGNY ensures that the voices of half a million Korean-Americans are heard, understood, and empowered. With a rich history and a promising future, the Korean American Association of Greater New York continues to serve as a beacon of unity, a pillar of support, and a symbol of Korean pride in the heart of the American Dream.
