About This Cause

The Royal Oak Foundation inspires Americans to learn about, experience and support places of great historic and natural significance in the United Kingdom in partnership with the National Trust of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Established in 1973, Royal Oak has developed a broad base of support across the United States and has produced educational programs designed to increase awareness of the pioneering conservation work of the Trust and the extraordinary character of the places under its stewardship. Royal Oak’s national program of lectures, the Drue Heinz Lectures, explore the shared cultural heritage of the United States and the United Kingdom and bring renowned scholars and authors to audiences across America. The Foundation also provides scholarships for Americans studying in fields related to the work of the National Trust. Royal Oak membership provides Americans with access to the Trust’s properties and the direct, first-hand experiences of Britain’s cultural heritage and spectacular natural landscapes and coastline.
