Mission Statement

SICSA Pet Adoption Center is a nonprofit animal welfare organization located in Kettering, Ohio. Our mission is to promote the welfare and adoption of companion animals, and nurture loving, lifelong relationships between animals and people. To support our mission, SICSA offers numerous animal-centered programs and services for families and children.

About This Cause

In 1974, a group of dedicated individuals committed to offering Kettering Ohio, Dayton and the Miami Valley an alternative to the traditional animal welfare system, came together and created the Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals (SICSA). For 40 years, people in the Miami Valley have supported SICSA in a partnership of caring to build a strong humane community. We have over 1,400 dog and cat adoptions annually and spay and neuter over 2,000 dogs and cats each year for the community. We have over 340 junior and adult volunteers that provide 16,000 hours of service each year. SICSA is a private non-profit 501(c)(3). Donations are tax-deductible under section 501(c) (3) of the IRS code.
