For over 45 years, our team of dedicated professionals has made life-saving connections. Our diverse services bridge critical medical industry needs with innovative solutions. The BBG Mission: To save and enhance lives through the healing power of human cells. South Texas Blood & Tissue Center supplies blood and blood components to area hospital patients. The STBTC mission: To be the blood provider bridging caring people to patients. QualTex Laboratories is the largest, independent, nonprofit testing laboratory in the United States that offers testing services for global biotechnology customers. The QualTex Mission: To support global public safety with the timely delivery of high-quality testing services for patients, donors and regulated biological products.
About This Cause
Founded in 1974, South Texas Blood & Tissue Center (STBTC) serves as the region’s only nonprofit community blood center, collecting, processing, testing and distributing blood products and blood resource management services to hospitals, dialysis centers and emergency clinics across 48-counties throughout South Texas, so that patients receive life sustaining blood. Blood availability is vital to health care in our South Texas community and throughout the United States. Because there is NO substitute for blood today, community blood providers like STBTC are critical to bridging blood donors with the patients requiring transfusions. A robust, available blood supply is critical to ensuring public safety not only in times of disaster, but during traumatic life events requiring blood transfusions to save someone’s life.
