Mission Statement
The mission of the Historic Restoration Trust of the Town of Nutley New Jersey is to restore and maintain the Kingsland Manor as a local historical resource. The historical value of the Kingsland Manor makes it of extreme importance that a conscious long-range restoration and multi-faceted community program be developed. With the continuing dense urbanization of northeast New Jersey, very few historic sites of the 18th and early 19th centuries survive and retain aspects of the original architectural, archaeological, and natural resources that Kingsland Manor has. The physical restoration of the Kingsland Manor shall maintain or restore those features that reflect the architectural building period that began in the late 18th century and stretched into the late 19th century.
About This Cause
The Kingsland Manor gives visitors insight into life in New Jersey from the 1700s to the early 1900s. It is regularly open to the public for monthly tours, historical events, classes, fundraisers, and social events. A growing collection of historical documents has been made available online. In addition to overseeing the restoration, the Trust sponsors a yearly scholarship for a high school graduate.
