About This Cause
Third Street Alliance for Women and Children is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving the greater Lehigh Valley. For more than a century, we have worked to address the critical needs of our community. We serve working families by providing affordable, accredited childcare and work collectively to address and provide services to homeless and at risk individuals and families. Our mission is to inspire and equip women, children, and families to live, learn and thrive. To serve the homeless in our community Third Street Alliance runs a robust homeless services program. We provide homelessness prevention & diversion programming, supportive housing, and coordinated entry to individuals at risk for homelessness as well as emergency & transitional housing to women and families in our 25-unit on-site shelter. Our PA STAR 4 facility, The Learning Center, provides early childhood education for children ages 6-weeks to 6 years, two state-funded Pre-K Counts classrooms for at-risk low-income children aged 3 to 5, three state-funded Pre-K Counts Infant & Toddler classrooms, and summer, before and after-school care for school-aged children up to 13 years. Access to the quality care provided by the Leaning Center ensures low-income families can maintain stable employment and at-risk children and families receive the support they need for academic success.
