His Place is a beloved community where everyone is welcome to join in God's goodness, grace, redemption, and abiding love. His Place's mission is to overcome poverty and trauma together with communities transformed by God's loving care.
About This Cause
General Information: His Place Ministries is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 1975, we've been fortunate to serve the Northside of Pittsburgh for over forty-five years. His Place is a faith-based, Christian organization; our mission is to overcome poverty and trauma together with communities transformed by God's loving care. Our community center facility is located in the Northside neighborhood of Spring Hill, where we've been for the past 15 years. Services Information: Education and Child Development Programs Believe & Achieve Afterschool Academy - Our school year out-of-school-time programming provides high-quality academic tutoring and enrichment Mondays-Thursdays at Spring Hill Elementary. Our programming is designed to support our students to meet 12 key developmental/educational benchmarks. The Summer Soar - Our summer programming extends learning opportunities when school is not in session, in order to replace summer learning loss with academic gains, continue building community, and provide additional extracurricular activities, including field trips and recreation. Arts - We offer weekly community art nights at our community center in Spring Hill for students and families of Believe & Achieve Afterschool Academy. Early Childhood - The Family Support Center at our community center in Spring Hill offers young children (birth-5) and their caregivers a welcoming space and a stimulating, fun environment where children and parents bond. Family Support and Community Investment Family Support Center & Pantry - The Family Support Center at our community center in Spring Hill offers young children (birth-5) and their caregivers a welcoming space and a stimulating, fun environment where children and parents bond. The Family Support Center pantry provides unmet basic needs for families and caregivers Caregiver Community Groups - We host weekly, informal gatherings where caregivers can get together, enjoy coffee/refreshments and strengthen community ties. Spread Love - Spread Love is our ongoing campaign to provide basic unmet needs resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic to the students and families who have participated in His Place Ministries' programming. It is our way to offer support during these challenging times and to maintain community connections even when programs are restricted due to COVID-19. Our Faith & Witness We believe that God's purpose for all of us is to rejoice and grow in His goodness, grace, redemption, and abiding love. His Place does not discriminate in offering/providing services to children, youth, and families based on religious affiliation.
