Belief in the importance that parents are the prime educators of children has led CenClear to adopt the philosophy of "Reaching Children Through Families.

About This Cause

Cen-Clear Child Services, Inc. (dba CenClear) was established as a non-profit corporation in 1980 and governed by a board of directors to provide the Head Start program in Centre and Clearfield Counties, Pennsylvania. In the ensuing years, CenClear has expanded in response to unmet community needs and to fill identified gaps in services to children and families. Today, CenClear is a multi-faceted human services agency that employs over 700 persons across a service area in 15 counties. Well over 14,000 children and adults, and their families, are served annually. Through its Preschool Division, CenClear provides Head Start, Early Head Start, Family Centers, Early Intervention, and Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts. The agency also provides a Time-Limited Family Reunification program, which seeks to reunite children in foster care with their families. CenClear also manages the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Clearfield County for children who are victims of sexual abuse, where a team of specially trained professionals evaluate abuse cases and help the children and families. CenClear provides various mental health and drug and alcohol services for children and adults throughout 15 counties in rural central Pennsylvania. Current Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol services include: - Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Services that provides for outpatient mental health and drug and alcohol therapy, as well as psychiatric services and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) - Decision Support Center promotes self-advocacy in treatment by providing access to recovery-oriented information to make educated decisions regarding treatment options. - Intensive Behavioral Health Services for children that includes behavior consultants and mobile therapists; - Family Based Mental Health Program and the Maintaining Strengths Program to promote family unity and works toward reducing the need for out-of-home placement; - Blended Case Management that includes accessing, linking, coordinating, and monitoring needs of services as well as providing support and advocacy; - Community and School-Based Behavioral Health in five rural school districts that serve children with severe emotional or behavioral problems; - Child Family Resiliency Teams for children to prevent out-of-home placement in a variety of settings; - Certified Peer Specialist Services for individuals who have mental health diagnoses; - Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation helps individuals incorporate the principles of recovery and wellness into goals to support full integration into their communities. - Certified Recovery Specialist Services for patients with substance use disorders (SUD)
